If the middle east is the supplier of most of the worlds oil then why haven’t they lifted the standard of living for all their people like we have in the United States? These countries have Kings and Sheiks. These KIngs and Sheiks are rich because they supply oil to the West. These Kings and Sheiks are rich because the wealth has been concentrated among the elite, not filtered down to the rest of their respective countries. Maybe the U.S. has enjoyed cheap oil because the standard of living in these countries has been kept substandard? Maybe the standard of living in the U.S. has been fairly high because the standard of living in these countries has been kept substandard? If these oil producing nations started to create a society similar to ours here in the United States, imagine what it would start costing us. My point here is simple. I have no respect for the middle east because the elite oil sheiks and kings have usurped all the power and refuse to build great societies. With all their wealth they still won’t lift the majority of their people out of poverty. They won’t build great nations. That is being done on purpose. Imagine the deals worked out by the U.S. and the rich oil barons to keep cheap oil flowing into the U.S. and to keep the sheiks and kings wealthy beyond most peoples dreams. What a croc! I really wish it was as simple as let the middle east kill each other, but unfortunately, it is not. Obviously, the U.S. can’t stay out of the middle east because we are responsible for the substandard living standards of most of the people. What a twisted web we weaved. But I still say let em kill each other!
